curatorial statement
These images collectively illustrate the choreographed nature of construction—a testament to the human response to gather, arrange, and interpret the present moment. Each of the featured artists employs their distinct perspective to unveil hidden facets of reality, offering glimpses into a specific time and place, whether it be through a fictional lens or grounded in truth.
Amidst this diverse array of oddities, there emerge instances of heightened performance, personal identification, and necessary respites from 'reality.' Through the image-making process, one can reconcile the past by fabricating the present moment. Some of these works serve as compelling escapes, shrouded in enigmatic nuances, while others serve as straightforward documentation of artworks or performances. There are also self-crafted narratives that rise and fall like a motion picture. All of these elements function like an express train on route to some form of resolution, leaving us, them, you, or me with something gained that we didn’t have before.
Each work belongs in a whirling tundra, glittering and strikingly prominent in all their textural glory. When you observe them, it's ok to get lost, to not fully comprehend, or feel at ease. The photographs possess an inherent capacity to deceive, enabling them to transcend the confines of the lens. Time, being a fragile resource, has taught us to take each fleeting moment and genuinely engage with what lies before you. In a time marked by irregularity, these images can exist as something, somewhere—From Another Source.
